Sue Cleary, a member of the hall group, is stepping down from the many voluntary roles she has fulfilled in recent years. This means we need other volunteers to carry out the tasks outlined here:
Practical Tasks – can you help with any of these?
-
Cleaning the hall – this needs to be done at least twice a week with the number of regular bookings that we have. Checking recycling, picking up recycling bags for use, putting out the recycling for collection. Checking there are enough clean towels and tea towels etc.
-
Regular checks that equipment is working – toilets, kettles, fridge, liaising with Neil Spiller (health & safety) and the Hall Team if necessary etc.
-
Buying the cleaning materials, toilet rolls, kitchen rolls, hoover bags etc. when needed.
Admin Tasks – can you help with any of these?
-
Answering emails, taking bookings and generally coordinating the bookings, including parish bookings (Pastor Gareth) – who’s opening up/closing, issuing keys to regular users, checking facilities required (fridges plugged in, setting heating times etc.).
-
Dealing with regular rentals – informing them if an event has to be cancelled (due to heating issues etc.). Collecting the rental money and banking cash when necessary.
-
Renewing the annual music license.
-
Supporting the hall group with grant applications.
Working within the parish
-
Liaising with the fundraising group – booking in the dates they want, making and printing posters, lottery licences, etc.
-
Liaising with the Sunday tea and coffee teams – checking the availability of supplies.
Although Sue carries out all these tasks, we’re asking if you are able to regularly commit to some of these tasks so that it doesn’t all fall on one person. Please contact Sue Cleary on 07576319082 or Liz Mayo on 07713919816. If volunteers do not come forward, the services we are able to offer to users of the community hall will be limited. Finally, we would like to thank Sue for her energy, time and commitment to St. Dyfrig’s Community Hall.
