Teresa Jones of St Dyfrig’s writes: Please join me again this year in the world’s largest children’s project. Our aim is to reach as many children as possible with a shoebox gift. You’ll bring a big smile to a child’s face and let them know that they are loved and not forgotten. This may be the only gift they receive.

Last year 51% of shoeboxes collected in the UK went to countries where Christians are marginalised and persecuted. This year we want to send even more.

Leaflets and shoeboxes will available at Mass this weekend. Filled shoeboxes can be left at the back of church and I will come and collect them. I am also available to collect them from people’s homes if that is more convenient.

This year we are unable to accept war related games, chocolate, sweets, toothpaste, and any form of liquid, i.e. bubble bath or shampoo.

Your generosity is touching hearts and transforming lives, as children all over the world receive the shoebox gifts you so lovingly pack. I hope I can count on your generosity again this Christmas.

The final collection date will be 14th November.

Many thanks
