A message from our local CAFOD/SVP representatives about the upcoming election:

With the election just over 3 weeks away, this is to let you know that your parish group can now email the party candidates (all of them)  for your local constituency by clicking here: https://action.cafod.org.uk/page/137680/action/1

This is one of the three actions that we’re asking you to take as a parish group, along with asking questions at a hustings event and being ready if candidates knock on your door. You can read all about it here: election guide for parishes

Please note there is a separate page for people who are emailing the candidates as an individual, and you can see that here. The first link is for parish groups to use.

You may be interested to see that the Bishops’ Conference website has some guidance for the election, including a message from Cardinal Nichols about the importance of getting involved, and at the very end of that page, a link to our resources: CAFOD’s General Election guide for Catholic voters – Catholic Bishops’ Conference (cbcew.org.uk).

Please let us know what you are doing by going to this page: election guide for parishes (the section near the top called, ‘Using your Catholic voice: Tell us what your parish is doing.’)

At the bottom of that page you can also see PDFs of all our resources, including a handout for parishioners with questions to ask candidates, and a prayer handout.

The common good is reached when we work together to improve the lives of people both in our local community, and in the wider world. (Pope Francis).
